And maybe some career highlights!
Mark is a seasoned executive with 30 years of experience spanning the energy, natural resources, and industrial sectors. His unique blend of expertise covers engineering and digital services, strategic and operational planning, complex negotiations, risk mitigation, and financial rigour.
From 2007 to 2019, Mark served as a Global Business & Commercial Director at Hatch Ltd. During this time, Mark built and led the commercial and risk framework for one of Hatch’s largest business units, helping to drive multiple phases of significant growth and international expansion. He assembled and managed global teams to oversee the financials, contracts, risks, and operations for multi-million-dollar projects, ensuring alignment across executive leadership, engineering, finance, legal, HR, and mobility. Recognized for his expertise, he was also tasked with delivering executive training seminars across several countries.
Mark then joined Accenture, a global top-10 consulting firm, as a Finance Commercial Director. As a key member of an executive project team, he provided strategic leadership to top-tier clients, helping guide their integration of cutting-edge digital technologies. Mark played a pivotal role in revitalizing one of Canada’s largest clients, leading a 30+ member cross-functional team—including HR, IT Security, Finance, Legal, and Operations—within a project that spanned more than 1,000 staff. His leadership helped to restore pricing stability, streamline operational processes, and renegotiate contracts to return the program to top-tier performance. He also directed the development of complex financial models and GAAP-compliant reporting to support high-stakes contract and dispute negotiations. Under his leadership, the team twice ranked in the 90th percentile for overall employee satisfaction within the broader Fortune 500 organization.
Currently, Mark serves at Conexus Nuclear (formerly Candu Owners Group), as the Director of Corporate Services. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role plays a key part in leading this not-for-profit organization’s global transformation and recovery strategy. Entrusted with executive leadership and full P&L accountability, Mark oversees a diverse portfolio of critical business functions—including Procurement, IT, Risk, Governance, Human Resources, and Quality Assurance. He also drives the vision, development, and successful implementation of a newly centralized shared services model designed to enhance efficiency, deliver value, and support both internal teams and client-facing operations.
Mark has also delivered executive seminars across North America, South America, and Africa on commercial best practices, risk mitigation, negotiation strategies, and conflict resolution. He served for several years as a facilitator in Hatch’s Operational Leadership Program, leading courses on conflict resolution for future leaders.
Mark has been a licensed professional Engineer (Professional Engineers Ontario) since 2000.
